kara-karina@Nocturnal Book Reviews
Hello everyone!
We still haven't had snow and I feel a bit disappointed about it. How about you?
Here is what I've READ this week:
A VAMPIRE CHRISTMAS was a short and sweet Christmas story. I've also really enjoyed THE SPECIALISTS: MODEL SPY- such a silly, funny book, spies and weird imagined countries and lots of gadgets and bad bad accents... Very much recommended. THE DUCHESS WAR brought tears to my eyes it was so good, but Courtney Milan does that to me a lot. She is an amazing writer. Beautiful book. WAKING UP MARRIED is a nice story but way too fluffy to take it seriously. However it brought a smile to my face and that's what matters, right? COVET can be summarized in one sentence - all sex and no plot. I still need some sort of plot and character development, peeps, otherwise I catch myself skipping sex scenes to find out a little bit more about the characters. This is not a good author for me. BEYOND SHAME *phew* was incredibly sexy. I got to the end of the book and to my profound surprise found out that this is the same couple who writes Moira Rogers novels. And I don't even like Moira Rogers! However, as Kit Rocha they totally hit the spot for me. More in the review... At last, A BLOOD SEDUCTION just pissed me off. It was shallow, had no character consistency and left me cold.

I try and be careful with freebies as well - I have over 80 books on my kindle and I don't want to add any more than necessary! :-)
I agree with Mel, those freebies can break your neck ... errr, bookshelves! Going through the list of all my unread books recently, I "purged" tons of freebies I hoarded back in 2011 and which I (mostly) got because they were free and not because I was so super excited about them. It's bad, really! Now I rarely get freebies and if I do then only because I really REALLY want to read the book.
I wanted the cooper book but I am so lazy and did not look for my password
You are definitely right, Mel and Birgit. I used to download random freebies but ended up with a pile of books of questionable quality I don't really want to read or dnf almost straight away. Now it's only the authors I know, books recommended to me or on my wishlist, and I enjoy most of them. There is not a single random book on my computer LOL
Blodeuedd, nooo! You should ask for a new one! It's still free :)
I confess I didn't read a blood seduction with all the mixed review I saw. Now I'm anxious to read yours as well. Happy reading!
Dehlia, seriously think you shouldn't read it. It's not good. :(
I really want to read Laini Taylor! Happy reading :D
Mel@thedailyprophecy.
Oh wow, great haul again! So many books I'd love to get myself!
Happy reading!
My Haul.
OOoh nice haul!! These are all pretty new to me but I hope you enjoy them all!
Here's my STS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
We had snow but it's gone now - thank goodness! I hate it!
Lots of new to me books there, I'll have to check them out. Enjoy :-D
o.o Blood of the Wicked has me curious..eep! Lovely haul this week, now that your book ban is over you my dear have been having fun! The Sunday Post
A Blood Seduction looks great but it's more PNR than UF and I'm afraid I won't like it. Hopefully that won't be the case. I hope you'll enjoy Daughter of Smoke and Bone, I just bought the second book and I'm very excited about it.
Happy reading.
Great haul this week, glad you enjoyed Model Spy. I am in two minds wether to read Waking Up Married, its not my ususal type of read.
Enjoy all your reads and thanks for stopping by
Reminds me, I have an email to reply to re: Untimed somewhere..
Awesome haul, luv. "All sex and no plot" sounds like porn to me...heheheheh. Covet looks interesting. I might have to troll Amazon for that book.
Have a great week, K. :)
Looks like quiet the collection this week. Great haul! Hope you enjoy when you get to them all. :)
