Succubus Revealed by Richelle Mead review

Succubus Revealed by Richelle Mead (Georgina Kincaid #6)

from the library

Synopsis from Goodreads
Georgina Kincaid has had an eternity to figure out the opposite sex, but sometimes they still surprise her. Take Seth Mortensen. The man has risked his soul to become Georgina's boyfriend. Still, with Lucifer for a boss, Georgina can't just hang up her killer heels and settle down to domestic bliss. In fact, she's being forced to transfer operations...to Las Vegas. The City of Sin is a dream gig for a succubus, but Georgina's allies are suspicious. Why are the powers-that-be so eager to get her away from Seattle - and from Seth? Georgina is one of Hell's most valuable assets, but if there's any way out of the succubus business she plans to take it - no matter how much roadkill she leaves behind. She just hopes the casualties won't include the one man she's risking everything for...

Well, at least the ordeal is finished and I can put Georgina's angsty love life behind me. I pretty much feel like I felt reading Last Sacrifice. Cheated. You have all these things building up and seemingly going nowhere, and then bam! Quick wrap up and HEA.

In Last Sacrifice HEA conveniently excluded fabulous Adrian, here we quickly got rid of no less fabulous Roman...

I don't know how Richelle did it, but she took all the fun out of the succubi. Georgina doesn't seduce anyone, doesn't transform even once in this book. She is an elf in a local shopping mall, for God's sake! Can you even fall harder? Oh yes, you can. You can enter bowling competition.

Georgina was funny and lively in the early days, but alas at some point I just fell out of love with her. The highlights as usual were Roman and Carter.

Farewell, Georgina & Seth. Can't say I will miss you.

Awww, such a shame you didn't enjoy it. I couldn't see anyway else for Richelle to end it. If she truly loved Seth you can't really have Georgina seducing random men...but Carter and Roman were the best characters! I for one would love a spin off series with Carter mysteriously on the edges again... :)

Oh too bag it wasn't for you. I confess I need to read the fifth book... I hope it wouldn't be the same for me. Thanks for your review.

Thanks for commenting, gals! The problem for me is that I love Richelle's writing. It's just that I don't agree with her on the idea of a strong beautiful woman turning into a pale shadow of herself because she falls in tragic love. It happens in all her books, unfortunately. I think it's just me. Love can be very destructive, but you can't give up who you are to make other person happy. There has to be a balance.

In case of zombie apocalypse

Hey, guys! I feel like I should say this just in case :)
If you'd like to sponsor a fellow book addict who sometimes can't sleep at night worrying that she won't have enough books to read if internet goes down in the event of zombie apocalypse (I'm convinced it's one of the top five ways to go for human race) you can donate through Paypal to olivesandacorns at gmail dot com or buy a book through any of the links provided with my reviews which will send me a small percentage from the sale. All proceeds will go towards my enormous TBR. I will also shelter you on the remote farm in Portugal when zombie apocalypse starts provided you survive getting there. There will be books, yay?
Thank you! Love you all
