kara-karina@Nocturnal Book Reviews
First of all, crazy week. We got snowed in but I still had to work today. I also managed to get books without trying. And I stupidly almost sliced the top bit of my toe off stumbling into kitchen cabinet early in the morning. Oh. Joy.
How is your weekend going?
I READ:
LUSH was a genuinely nice, sweet book. Nothing groundbreaking, but enjoyable. KEEPING IT REAL intrigued me so much with its mad mix of technology, multiverse and all things Fae, that I've borrowed book #2 from the library already. HATEFUL HEART was a very interesting but slow read, and it ended so abruptly, I thought I was missing some pages. I am not pleased with this and at £10 per book I feel robbed. PANTOMIME was lovely and refreshing, a very decent fantasy YA, and EARTH THIRST reminded me of that brutal, gory thriller/horror style of Christopher Pike's writing. I quite liked it.
I BORROWED from the library:
I WON:
Thanks to The Readventurer!
Thanks to The Book Chick City and Bloomsbury UK. I actually gave up hope that this book will come in as I won it way back in the beginning of November.

WAS GIFTED/USED GIFT CARD ON:
Thanks to my hubby and sister-in-law!
FROM NETGALLEY:
The gals from The Book Chick City raved so much about this book I knew I had to read it.
FOR REVIEW:
Both are novellas from my favorite authors, so I couldn't resist. Thank you, Elizabeth and Patrice!

I know it's a short notice and I most probably bit out more than I can chew, but if anyone is interested in the Valentine blog hop I'm organising, please sign up.
Otherwise, the only participant in it will be me. And that will be embarrassing.
At last, I've got a giveaway of Chasing Dragons going until the 25th of January, and it's international. You'll have to check the author's recommendations of books on Asian culture if you are interested in it. They are fab.
This is it. I'll get out of your face so you can enjoy your Sunday.
Ciao!

In case of zombie apocalypse
Hey, guys! I feel like I should say this just in case :)
If you'd like to sponsor a fellow book addict who sometimes can't sleep at night worrying that she won't have enough books to read if internet goes down in the event of zombie apocalypse (I'm convinced it's one of the top five ways to go for human race) you can donate through Paypal to olivesandacorns at gmail dot com or buy a book through any of the links provided with my reviews which will send me a small percentage from the sale. All proceeds will go towards my enormous TBR. I will also shelter you on the remote farm in Portugal when zombie apocalypse starts provided you survive getting there. There will be books, yay?
Thank you! Love you all

Sounds like a tough week overall. It's snowing here at the moment and I'm slightly worries about getting to see a client tomorrow morning now! Although I am tempted by the idea of staying put and reading all day instead! :-)
Really hope you like Sealed With A Curse - I thought it was great.
Nice haul! Firebrand looks amazing! Happy reading!
Yay! you got Shadows!! I picked up Lush too despite trying really hard to stay away from Net Galley. Hope your toe is ok, it sounds painful, pesky kitchen cabinets shouldn't have been in the way.
Firebrand looks good! And I like the cover from Burn mark. Happy reading :D
Mel@thedailyprophecy.
Yay for sealed with a curse!!! Happy reading darling!
OOh nice! These are mostly new to me! Except I have heard good things about Sealed with a Curse! Still need to get me that one as well! Happy Reading!
Here's my STS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Glad to hear Pantomine was good! I'm excited about that one :) xo leanna
Ooo Keeping It Real sounds good. I'm so glad you enjoyed Pantomime, it's so good to see YA books pushing the boundaries.
Second blog that I've been on who has an Elizabeth Hunter book in their post. Hmmmm...I might have to check her out. Also, SHADOWS!!! Eeeeek! I really, really hope you'll enjoy this. Otherwise, I might have to stop recc'ing a book to you. Lovely, haul this week...you've been busy too.
I would join your hop but unfortunately, I'm strapped for cash and I signed up for one already. Boo-hiss. :(
I am gonna skip in over to Goodreads and check on firebrand now
The cat made me lol so hard. :p
OUCH! I hope your toe is better today! Shit!
Glad to hear you liked Pantomime. I am anxious to read it.
I can't wait to see what you think of Deathless. I'm interested to read more of her books but I don't know where to start. I think it may be that one but I'd like to hear another's thoughts on it first. Enjoy!
Mel, travel safely. England unfortunately falls apart every time there is some snowfall :) I'm looking forward to that book!
Lesley, thank you so much for entering into the hop! :) Lush was very nice, lots of yummy food LOL Hope you enjoy it too!
Mel and Ula, thank you! I think I will :)
D., Jessica, all your excellent reviews made me crave that book :)
Leanna, Ellie, Pantomime was very charming. I very much enjoyed it.
Joy, our cash is very tight this month with all the heating bills, so I know the feeling well. And I'm 100% sure Shadows will be gorgeous! Hugs, darling!
Blodeuedd, it's a trilogy with very good reviews. I'm looking forward to this book.
Hannah, I adore lolcats :)
Kara, the reason I picked up Deathless is because Russian people who read it said how good it was and how wonderful Valente research was. For me it's a very high praise. I hope you enjoy Pantomime!
Sealed with A Curse is in my tbr pile, sweet haul my friend and i hope your toe is ok
Oh great week in collecting and reading books. :) Oh, I love that picture of the cat too. lol. Have a great week!
glad you enjoyed Lush, I'm looking forward to reading it :) Getting books w/out trying is always fun, when book packages show up at my doorstep or email, it kind of feels like christmas :) Have a great week, I hope your toe feels better, and happy reading! Book Savvy Babe
