Ok, guys! You know I've read both books, and they didn't work for me. I'm sure lots of people would love them, so the books are looking for a new home which will make them feel welcome :)

I don't think I've read any modern retelling of fairy tales, but I have got two books which I will be reading very soon: Ash by Malinda Lo (a retelling of Cinderella) and Mermaid by Carolyn Turgeon (a retelling of The Little Mermaid)!

There's a few that come to mind, like Hans Christian Anderson's "The Snow Queen" and the re-telling of it by Wendy Delsol in her books, Stork and her soon to be released Frost. Then there's also Beauty and the Beast in the modern re-telling from of the novel Beastly, which I've just recently read and absolutely loved. :)
