The Postman Knock #41

I am a little bit sad, peeps.
I had my last day at work on Friday, and left a wonderful team of coworkers teary-eyed.
There was only 5 of us on my shift, but we were a riot.
Farewell, my friends!

Incidentally, I got hammered that night on my leaving do and am still feeling fragile. :)
Anyway, this is one more step towards moving, which I can deal with seriously now.
Hope you had a lovely week in the meantime!

I've READ:

Both THE BONE SEASON and NEANDERTHAL SEEKS HUMAN were amazing and made me lose sleep in order to finish them. First is a fantastic dystopian YA and second one is an adorable, funny, klutzy and nerdy contemporary romance. NANCY'S THEORY OF STYLE is an outrageously flamboyant and beautifully written, but I don't expect anything less from Marta Acosta's books. CROWN OF MIDNIGHT was... good, but I honestly can say that my judgement is skewed by horrendously formated kindle copy I had to read.  HOW TO MISBEHAVE was fun and cutesy novella, and I'm glad I finally tried this author. I really enjoyed it! At last, REVEALING US was disappointing after really good first two books in this series. I expected more. *shrugs*

These two are my paperback copies because I wanted to have something where my blog has been quoted, but ouch - they were not cheap!

A first book in the series, recommended by Betsy whose taste in books is very similar to mine.

This is it, have a lovely day, you all!

Nadia by Nitin Sawhney,
one of my favorites.

Yes, the kindle format was dreadful on Crown of Midnight...I was so happy to have a paperback version to read. Shame it got in the way of your enjoyment of the story!
I was thinking of starting Bone Season this week - looks like its well worth a read!

It's always sad to say goodbye when you leave a job - but I'm glad it was a fun final shift and you have such an adventure ahead of you!

Great haul, although I haven't heard of many of these books, I'll have to check them out.
It's sad to leave work but good luck with your move (whenever it is)

In Defense of the Queen looks like something I would read! I love historical fiction. And that's awesome that you read Crown of Midnight and The Bone Season! :)

Have a fantastic week!

Check out my haul post!

*HUGS* re work. It's so hard to leave and to say goodbye. Good luck with the move!

That's disappointing about Revealing Us; Carol has really been looking forward to it. I'm glad you liked How to Misbehave, now you have to read the follow-up. It's very different!

I'm so sad on your behalf. It's always a tough thing to leave the ones that have been a part of your life forever. But I'm sure they'll miss you and will always think of you.

Anyway, have fun in Portugal (jealous!)

Lovely haul. too. Heheheh

Gah, I find all of the hype for the Bone Season puzzling. I wasn't impressed by the excerpt I read and I just don't know if it gets better or if it's not for me or what. Ahhhhhh!

In case of zombie apocalypse

Hey, guys! I feel like I should say this just in case :)
If you'd like to sponsor a fellow book addict who sometimes can't sleep at night worrying that she won't have enough books to read if internet goes down in the event of zombie apocalypse (I'm convinced it's one of the top five ways to go for human race) you can donate through Paypal to olivesandacorns at gmail dot com or buy a book through any of the links provided with my reviews which will send me a small percentage from the sale. All proceeds will go towards my enormous TBR. I will also shelter you on the remote farm in Portugal when zombie apocalypse starts provided you survive getting there. There will be books, yay?
Thank you! Love you all
