The Postman Knock #40

Announcement:
Thanks to very helpful comments last Sunday I've replaced an email subscription option on this blog to the one offered through Feedburner, so please if you still prefer to follow me through email and you have been cut off by Blogtrottr from my posts since last Friday, you can resubscribe again!

In other news, I've been a guest on Melissa's blog celebrating her blogoversary by naming 5 top steampunk and sci-fi reads of this year. Come and say hello if you are interested, folks!

How was your week anyway?
Mine was glorious on the book front.
I'VE READ extremely delicious books :

THE MYSTERIOUS CASE OF MR. STRANGEWAY is a nice and very short novella in Cherry St. Croix's world. I wasn't entirely sold on it, but it had Hawke. Enough said. BANQUET OF LIES had to be snatched from Edelweiss like a hot cake and read in one go. Like all books from Michelle it was completely absorbing and gripping. Loved it! IF I WERE YOU and BEING ME were on my wishlist for a long time, and as you can see I'm reading a lot of erotic romance right now so I really enjoyed Lisa Renee Jones's writing. It was definitely more like a spicy mystery than something straight from Ellora's Cave. Because of these two books I've read ESCAPING REALITY by the same author and again it was 4 star solid story and I can't wait to read book #2 in this new series. At last, HELLFIRE which came out this week did not disappoint. It's such a fantastic military sci-fi that I'm ready to recommend it to anyone who'd listen. And finally, MAGIC RISES was totally worth the wait (I had to wait 48 torturous hours after its release as a paperback in UK until it got uploaded as kindle version) and I was dizzy and wrung out when I finish it feeling like I should have had a shot of vodka and a spoonful of caviar. It was just that glorious!

I think I'll be checking out the Banquet of Lies *pulls out a looong list* as soon as I get to the bottom of my current pile. :-)

I have If I Were You and Being Me in my TBR pile; I really should read them. :D I'm glad you enjoyed the books you read last week, that's the way it should be. :)

Oh Magic Rises. My copy arrived this week and I am so torn between reading it straight away and leaving it for a while so I can savour the anticipation of having a visit to Kate & Curran to look forward too!

Magic Rises! I thought I would have to wait forever but the bookstore came through

Magic Rises has not yet arrived here, but Hellfire did, and I of course I started it right away. Amazing, wonderful, I loved it.

Vika, last I checked it was on Edelweiss as download, so you might be able to grab it now :)

Bea, I think you'd really enjoy them! :)

Mel, I don't know how you can do it. I literally dropped everything to read it!

Blodeuedd, I know! The wait was excruciating...

Aurian, it was, and I really need to read more, it ended on such an interesting note. I hope she writes the next book faster!

Lesley, I felt like I needed a stiff drink! :)

Hi, Kara!

You always have such nice hauls! I've placed the following books on my Amazon wish list: "Banquet of Lies", "Hellfire", "Magic Rises" (this one was already there), and "Untimely". All of these look SO good!! And of course, they're all printed books. No e-books for me! Lol.

Thanks for sharing these, and thanks as well for dropping by and commenting on my "Stacking The Shelves" post!! Happy Reading!! : )

In case of zombie apocalypse

Hey, guys! I feel like I should say this just in case :)
If you'd like to sponsor a fellow book addict who sometimes can't sleep at night worrying that she won't have enough books to read if internet goes down in the event of zombie apocalypse (I'm convinced it's one of the top five ways to go for human race) you can donate through Paypal to olivesandacorns at gmail dot com or buy a book through any of the links provided with my reviews which will send me a small percentage from the sale. All proceeds will go towards my enormous TBR. I will also shelter you on the remote farm in Portugal when zombie apocalypse starts provided you survive getting there. There will be books, yay?
Thank you! Love you all
