The Postman Knock #98

Hello, everyone!
The weather here is glorious, and I've started preparing soil for winter planting already. I also have a few lovely pumpkins for Halloween that we've grown on our land.
And last two days we are rendering the ceiling in our kitchen. *gleefully rubbing hands* It's all coming together, and it's going to be a much more comfortable winter. Never mind me not being able to lift my arms right now!
Fun and games all around. *wink*
How have you been?

Her is what I've READ:

THE SHADOW QUEEN was a lovely set of a new characters in Black Jewels series, and I really enjoyed it.  I read KISMET'S KISS as a part of Darkly Dreaming anthology, and while I know it's a lovely fantasy romance novel in its own right, it pales in comparison with Master of Crows a little bit (as it's in the same anthology) so it gets a solid 3.5/5 stars from me. SECOND DAUGHTER was a nice enough read, but not as good as the first book in series. SHALADOR'S LADY was pretty dramatic without being dark and I loved it. I almost finished with this series, peeps. I was definitely hooked on it. Soooo goood! Can I say "double yum" for ENTREAT ME? Absolutely delicious! A very elegant, poignant take on beauty and the beast. I am very much enamored with Grace Draven. At last, DARKNESS CLASHES was another excellent urban fantasy from Susan Illene. I'll be reviewing it next week.

You can see I went carefully browsing Amazon for one long morning... Anyway, another Ellis is free. Yay, I always enjoy her books, and the other two are authors on my wishlist.

Thanks to Michelle Diener! I'm not promising to review the whole anthology but I will review Michelle's story.

Squee!!! Looking forward to more of my favorite capo...

I also can not NOT mention the Dear Author vs. Ellora's Cave debacle.

Ilona Andrews made a great point underlining the importance of supporting Dear Author and donating to their legal fund. And I'm asking you to do the same, or if you can't then spread the word as much as you can.
So far the community support has been amazing.
42K has been collected in just under 2 days, and Courtney Milan offered her help to Ellora's Cave authors who would like to come forward with the evidence.
I am rooting for Jane Litte, and hope with all my heart that justice will prevail!

This is it for me, have a glorious weekend, everyone!

In case of zombie apocalypse

Hey, guys! I feel like I should say this just in case :)
If you'd like to sponsor a fellow book addict who sometimes can't sleep at night worrying that she won't have enough books to read if internet goes down in the event of zombie apocalypse (I'm convinced it's one of the top five ways to go for human race) you can donate through Paypal to olivesandacorns at gmail dot com or buy a book through any of the links provided with my reviews which will send me a small percentage from the sale. All proceeds will go towards my enormous TBR. I will also shelter you on the remote farm in Portugal when zombie apocalypse starts provided you survive getting there. There will be books, yay?
Thank you! Love you all
