Nota Bene means note well in Latin and I'm fairly sure that in my
student notes on lectures there was always a huge amount of NB notes
that would have marked the important phrases or passages which in turn
would pop up on a quiz or exam later.
I had this thought to introduce this feature for new and old releases of ebooks
I'm interested in to bring your attention to them too. We'll see how it
goes, but if you're interested in it please let me know and of course
you are welcome to share it.
Summary
The Legend of ZERO
begins the epic journey of 14-year-old Joe Dobbs in a post-apocalyptic
universe following a massive alien invasion of Earth. The oldest of the
children drafted from humanity’s devastated planet, Joe is impressed
into service by the alien Congressional Ground Force—and becomes the
unwitting centerpiece in a millennia-long alien struggle for
independence. Once his training begins, one of the elusive and prophetic
Trith appears to give Joe a spine chilling prophecy that the universe
has been anticipating for millions of years: Joe will be the one to
finally shatter the vast alien government known as Congress. And the
Trith cannot lie…
But first Joe has to make it through bootcamp.
But first Joe has to make it through bootcamp.
Seriously, this is an amazing military sci-fi series, so look away from the ugly covers! It's well worth your buck! Absolutely brutal, mind-boggling and full of complex characters and world-building.
Summary
The Magnificent Devices novels are set in an alternate Victorian age where the combustion engine has been a flop and steam-powered devices are capable of sending the adventurous to another city, another continent … or even another world. Society is divided into Wits (those who make their way using their intellect) and the Bloods (those who have inherited what they have).
Lady Claire Trevelyan has been born a Blood, but she has the heart, soul, and mind of a Wit. And therein lies the problem …
This is an absolutely delightful steampunk adventure of a young impoverished lady inventor with a bunch of orphaned miscreant kids. I promise you, this is fun and you can't help but fall in love with the characters. This price for 4 book bundle is well worth it plus you do want to buy all 4 together - each of them ends abruptly and then you end up dying to know what happens next. *grinning*
Summary
Five years ago, the war ended and Miami was given to the vampires. Five years ago, the US turned its back on those trapped behind the Wall – and life in the vampire kingdom has degenerated into a grisly struggle for survival.
When naive and impulsive Selah Brown leaves Brooklyn to search for her father in the dead heart of the vampire city, she discovers that nothing is as it was explained to the American public—and her search is subverted into a quest to expose the truth before the horrors of the city can claim her.
Yet what hidden talent could one young woman possess that would allow her to stand a chance?
Honestly, this is a great post-apocalyptic/dystopian vampire YA which I've already reviewed on the blog plus the first book can be downloaded at no cost!
Any recommendations from you, guys and gals?
Ciao!

In case of zombie apocalypse
Hey, guys! I feel like I should say this just in case :)
If you'd like to sponsor a fellow book addict who sometimes can't sleep at night worrying that she won't have enough books to read if internet goes down in the event of zombie apocalypse (I'm convinced it's one of the top five ways to go for human race) you can donate through Paypal to olivesandacorns at gmail dot com or buy a book through any of the links provided with my reviews which will send me a small percentage from the sale. All proceeds will go towards my enormous TBR. I will also shelter you on the remote farm in Portugal when zombie apocalypse starts provided you survive getting there. There will be books, yay?
Thank you! Love you all

Great deals, K. Readers of these genres would be happy. :)
How have you been? I've been MIA lately but looking forward to getting back on the saddle again, so to speak. :)
I hope you're having a great summer so far.
xoxo
Oh! I'm liking this :) Just got Vampire Miami for my Kindle, and I'm pretty sure I'll be getting the Magnificent Devices - 4 books for $8.99 that's a bargain! :D
Thanks for sharing!
...and also I think this is a good bargain too. Another great steampunk series by Gail Carriger, The Parasol Protectorate set (5 books) is $19.99.
