Crossed by J.F.Lewis (Void City #3)

Oh, Eric how I love you...

If you've never read these absolutely crazy series about vampire Eric Courtney, please do.

Synopsis
Eric's vicious and extremely powerful sire, the Empress vampire Lisette, comes to Void City to confront him, but misses him completely since he's gone to Paris for his honeymoon (hoping to confront her while he's there). Events in Paris conspire against Eric, partially because of the machinations of Ebon Winter- he forgets about his bride and gets into a fight with the granddaddy of all werewolves. Meanwhile, his loved ones back home must defeat Lisette without him.

I bloody love Eric.
Yeah, he's got issues with his memories (due to being embalmed when he was turned into vampire and died). Yeah, he is a stereotypical man easily distracted by sex and thoughts of his new wife's younger wicked witch sister, Rachel, and he is a stone cold killer.
But his heart is in the right place, and this is what makes him a hero instead of a villain.
Despite recent marriage to Tabitha, Eric still grieves for Meredith, his true love, but intends to try and be a faithful husband. However, Rachel, ever the troublemaker, uses her tantric magic on Eric and Tabitha to play havoc.
So this is how the honeymoon from hell starts.

Left on her own in Void City while the happy couple travels to Paris, Eric's vampiric daughter, absolutely psychotic Greta lives wild, going on a killing spree.
Again, you can not help but love Greta and her perverse logic and this is a true testament to Mr.Lewis's skill. She is the one who is left to deal with Lisette, The Empress, who created Eric and came to Void City to destroy him. Greta goes out of her way to please her daddy and kill the evil "Grandma"  for him.

Despite being a true monster it's Greta who shines through the whole story.
You’re naked,” Grandma said, her lip caught partway between a smile and a sneer.
“Thank God you aren’t.” I stuck my tongue out. “I mean come on. Ew!”
“What did you say?”
“I said put the kitty down, Orca!”
But Eric being Eric amused me to no end as well. He is absurdly funny, flippant and easily distracted, and no one seems to understand what planet he lives on.

Hopefully I didn't give any spoilers, but this book contains plenty of violence, graphic images, sarcasm, vampire intrigues and fun. If this sounds like something you would like, you better start from the beginning. You don't want to miss Eric being a strip club owner, do you?

Favorite quote:
When it comes to vampires across the years in books, in movies, or on television, there are certain rules:
Buffy loves Angel.
Louis loves Lestat.
Bella loves Edward.
And Eric … Eric loves Marilyn.
