Synopsis from Goodreads
There are three things you need to know about Kat Tanner (aka Kathleen Tyson. . . and yes, she is *that* Kathleen Tyson): 1) She’s determined to make good decisions, 2) She must get married ASAP, and 3) She knows how to knit.
Being a billionaire heiress isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. In fact, it sucks. Determined to live a quiet life, Kat Tanner changed her identity years ago and eschewed her family’s legacy. But now, Kat’s silver spoon past has finally caught up with her, and so have her youthful mistakes. To avoid imminent disaster, she must marry immediately; it is essential that the person she chooses have no romantic feelings for her whatsoever and be completely trustworthy.
Fortunately, she knows exactly who to ask. Dan O’Malley checks all the boxes: single, romantically indifferent to her, completely trustworthy. Sure, she might have a wee little crush on Dan the Security Man, but with clear rules, expectations, and a legally binding contract, Kat is certain she can make it through this debacle with her sanity—and heart—all in one piece.
Except, what happens when Dan O’Malley isn’t as indifferent—or as trustworthy—as she thought?

Guys, guys, I don't know what to say here! Penny's books usually get nothing but highest rating from me, but this read felt out of sync. It was more similar to books she writes with L.H. Cosway, of which I'm not a big fan.

I've liked Dan a lot in the previous books, and while I've never felt connection to Kat I was curious about her. However, in Marriage of Inconvenience I didn't dig these two together, the spark just wasn't there for me.

I don't know what did it, too much talk and thinking about sex whether it was about Kat's intimacy issues or them both objectifying each other, or just the amount of sexy times vs. the other plotlines.

All I know is that I was much more curious about Caraval Pharmaceuticals and its evil CEO's machinations or about Dan's family and his past.

I especially enjoyed Eleanor, Dan's mother, who was a gorgeous, warm character, and to my surprise, I loved devious Seamus! I think, Dan's whole family deserved more limelight as they were a lovely and lively bunch.

I also felt that there were parts of the plot which could have been expanded like Dan's status as a multi-millionaire (when did that happen and did Kat know about it?) or who his dad was.

Overall, not my favourite couple in this series, peeps, and I'm sorry about it.
