Synopsis from Goodreads
Seven corpses are discovered in the streets of a Dragon's fief. All identical, down to their clothing.
Kaylin Neya is assigned to discover who they were, who killed them—and why. Is the evil lurking at the borders of Elantra preparing to cross over?
At least the investigation delays her meeting with the Dragon Emperor. And as the shadows grow longer over the fiefs, Kaylin must use every skill she's ever learned to save the people she's sworn to protect. Sword in hand, dragons in the sky, this time there's no retreat and no surrender…

Another convoluted plot which didn't really need Kaylin to work which reminded me of that episode of The Big Bang Theory where Amy mentioned that Raiders of The Lost Ark movie didn't actually need Indiana Jones as it would have had the same result with or without him... So, same problem here, peeps. Wasn't impressed.

Calculated in Death by J.D. Robb (In Death #36)

Synopsis from Goodreads
In this new Eve Dallas thriller, Eve is surrounded by murder suspects from the high-stakes financial world.
On the steps outside an empty office in New York's financial district, a woman lies dead. It's a bitterly cold winter and her coat and other items are missing, which initially seems to point to a mugging gone wrong, but Lt Eve Dallas soon discovers that the body was dumped at the newly-renovated property. Now she has to find out why.
Marta Dickenson was an auditor, so Eve has a host of suspects among those who were under her scrutiny, not ruling out the fact Marta's sister-in-law is a famous judge. With the financial wizardry of Eve's husband Roarke at her disposal and the faithful Peabody by her side - when not distracted by the upcoming premiere they're all to attend - Eve starts the process of shifting through the motives of some powerful people to catch a killer.

I continued with this series after a couple of months break and a phenomenal previous book, Delusion in Death. While I loved Eve taking corporate sharks down a notch, I felt like Calculated in Death paled a little bit in comparison. Still, a great read, recommended.

Secret Sins by C.D. Reiss

Synopsis from Goodreads
Her name is Cinnamon. Cin for short. Band mates Strat and Indy don’t know anything about her except she’s smart as hell and sexy as heaven. They can’t agree who gets her, so they do the only thing two best friends could do. They declare her off limits to both of them.
Margie, AKA Cinnamon-you-can-call-me-Cin, has a thing or two to tell these guys.
Nobody “gets” her. She’ll let them know which one she wants when she can decide between them. Until then, their little pledges and promises aren’t her problem.
Her family is her problem. Her friends. And the world-famous blues rocker who has her cornered. He’s her problem too.
This may be one problem she can’t fix without some help.
8.5/10
Aah, Margie! As usual, zero bullshit & pure awesomeness. This story felt raw and real, and I hope there will be more to it as the ending simply was not enough. It was also pretty hot! Loved it, devoured it in one gulp. Need more!

Ах, Марджи! Как обычно, она не переносит пустые разговоры и показывает сильнейший характер. Эта история была как удар током, - сырой, неприхотливой, рваной, очень жгучей и надрывной. Безумно хочу продолжения. очень рекоменду.ю!Friday Mini Reviews #93: Michelle Sagara, J.D. Robb & C.D. Reiss

In case of zombie apocalypse
Hey, guys! I feel like I should say this just in case :)
If you'd like to sponsor a fellow book addict who sometimes can't sleep at night worrying that she won't have enough books to read if internet goes down in the event of zombie apocalypse (I'm convinced it's one of the top five ways to go for human race) you can donate through Paypal to olivesandacorns at gmail dot com or buy a book through any of the links provided with my reviews which will send me a small percentage from the sale. All proceeds will go towards my enormous TBR. I will also shelter you on the remote farm in Portugal when zombie apocalypse starts provided you survive getting there. There will be books, yay?
Thank you! Love you all
