Synopsis from Goodreads
Jay na Thalang is a demanding, driven genius. He doesn’t know how to stop or even slow down. The instant he lays eyes on Maria Lopez, he knows that she is a sexy distraction he can’t afford. He’s done his best to keep her at arm’s length, and he’s succeeded beyond his wildest dreams.

Maria has always been cautious. Now that her once-tiny, apocalypse-centered blog is hitting the mainstream, she’s even more careful about preserving her online anonymity. She hasn’t sent so much as a picture to the commenter she’s interacted with for eighteen months—not even after emails, hour-long chats, and a friendship that is slowly turning into more. Maybe one day, they’ll meet and see what happens.

But unbeknownst to them both, Jay is Maria’s commenter. They’ve already met. They already hate each other. And two determined enemies are about to discover that they’ve been secretly falling in love…

This series by Courtney Milan is like a cross between Penny Reid's nerdy romance and The Big Bang Theory. There are scientists in love, crazy experiments and big, long words.

Maria Lopez is a transgender woman, a graduate student and a secretly famous blogger MCL, whose blog talks about science gone wrong. We've met Maria in Trade Me, and even as a secondary character she demanded attention and affection. She is a study of contradictions,- tough but super caring, fabulous and full of anxieties. In other words, she is real with all her insecurities and blunders.

Jay na Thalang is a physicist, and overachiever, a workaholic with a laser precision, prone to snap judgements and social abruptness. He is also hiding under a nickname of Actual Physicist who's been flirting with MCL for the last to years. He sees beautiful, glamorous Maria, his friend's little sister and thinks she is an empty head who'll distract her brother from his studies. Obviously, those two are not to a good start while venting to their alter egos online.

The snappy comebacks, the snark, the weird insular world of scientists, the romance guaranteed that this book was FUN! It was also full of strong, capable women, especially Jay's mother and Maria's gran. I enjoyed it and really didn't want to say goodbye to the characters. Lovely! Recommended.
