The Postman Knock #55

Hello, everyone!
My Internet connection is crap at the end of the month when we exceed our bandwidth, so I have been reluctant to write any posts this week, besides we are at the end of olive harvest and everyone is exhausted.
All I was doing was reading some great books and hope you were doing the same.

Here is what I've READ:

Fantastic series.
The covers make you think about steampunk-ish YA, but it's far from the truth. It's proper steampunk, very intense, gritty, dark and full of political intrigue and tragedies. First book is solid four star, but the next one upped the ante and shot right into five star category. Really recommended!

NETGALLEY/EDELWEISS:

I'm reading A Study in Ashes right now. I just couldn't resist to read the whole trilogy in one go as soon as I was halfway through book #1.
Michelle Diener got requested because she in on my absolute must read list; Robin York is a pseudonym for Ruthie Knox who writes really good contemporaries, and Amy Carol Reeves writes a pretty good Gothic historical fiction and I've been following this trilogy for awhile.

BOUGHT:

This is it for me, peeps.
Hope you have a lovely weekend!
Adeus!

  9. I'm really, really, really jealous of you. Just this morning, my husband and I glanced over the idea of getting the heck out of the city in favour of lakeside living but we're terrified. There's no farm out here and husband would need to find a job close by. Sigh. I'll take spotty internet connection over working like a mouse on a wheel any day.

Anyway, enjoy all your books, love.
