The Postman Knock #44

Hello, everyone! All I can say that it's getting chilly here again, so the summer is pretty much gone. How is the weather where you are?
My mom left on Thursday, and I cried my eyes out. Just couldn't help myself!
But everything alright now, and hopefully I'll be seeing her next year.
The other extraordinary news is that my sis and bro in law published a book of quizbites, and huge congrats to them on that! :)

Here is what I've READ:

PARASITE was good and pretty creepy (wait until you read about that parasite that lives in cats!) but nowhere near as strong as Newsflesh trilogy, plus it ended too abruptly. I don't quite know what to think about it yet. ON MIDNIGHT WINGS was intense and gut-wrenching, but I don't expect anything less from Adrian Phoenix. It kept me biting my nails. CORRODED... again not the best in the series, I liked second part of it much more that the first, and it kind of saved the whole book. At last, ANYTHING BUT VANILLA and COME UNDONE were short, hot and sweet, - just what I needed to escape and relax.

NETFALLEY/EDELWEISS:

To be honest I requested A Study in Silks months ago and gave up hope that I'd get a reply and then suddenly got accepted. It was a nice surprise!

FOR REVIEW:

Thank you, Elizabeth and Ciye! :)

BOUGHT:

This is it. Enjoy some nice music, and happy Sunday!
Fun fact: my first and very short-lived boyfriend was a rock musician (J., if you read this, I love you loads for getting me into metal and rock music) and he sneakily made me listen to and fall in love with British metal band Anathema. They are still rocking and they are amazing. See for yourself...

Ciao!

Great haul. I'm hoping to read Parasite this month. I was so tempted to request Tempt the Stars but I decided to wait and purchase the book myself when I next get paid.

  6. The city's in a bit of a heatwave for the last couple of weeks. Today is a cool 18 degrees - a reprieve! I can't wait for fall, actually. It's my favourite season.

Scribe by Elizabeth Hunter looks awesome. Looking forward to reading your thoughts on that one.

Happy reading and have a great week, love.

  7. Congrats to your sis and BIL!

I've been hearing mixed reviews on Parasite; I'll be reading my copy soon. *crosses fingers*

It's been cooler here too with temps in the mid 70's to low 80's; the evenings have really cooled off.

    Happy reading!

  8. I got accepted for Study in Silks, too, I was so happy :) I'll read it before its official release. I can't wait to start Parasite and I'm still considering requesting Corroded, it sounds so good but it's third in the series and I already have a lot of books to read this month :/ are these books a quick read?

    My book haul.
