The Postman Knock #18

Hello, peeps!
I've had a very productive week review-wise and very exhausting one at work. That's why I am drowning my fatigue in sherry... Don't worry, I am writing this on Saturday, because this is also that week where I'm working Sundays as well. Oh well... I'm sure there is a light in the end of the tunnel :)

I've READ:

THE HANDMAID'S TALE made a huge impression on me, I was on the verge of tears when I finished reading it. It was such a profound read I've had nightmares after it. I don't think I'll review it, but I will definitely be reading more of Atwood's books. She is an amazing writer. EVIL OUTFITTERS, LTD. had a great concept as a kind of a historical fantasy, but I think it lost its appeal by being too long and switching between characters. I liked it but not enough to recommend to anyone else. BLOOD SHADOWS I really really enjoyed. Scorching hot paranormal romance with interesting world-building and a really sexy big bad boy Kane as a vampire *fanning herself* I'm posting my review next week and definitely recommend this book to all you lot :)

FOR REVIEW:

I'm reading it right now, and it's really lovely.

This is it this week.

Please, come  and visit a wonderful guest post from Susan Illene, who talks about her favorite UF heroines and gives away her own urban fantasy book, Darkness Haunts (INT)!

Don't forget, that My Antihero Valentine Blog Hop is happening next week. There is still time to sign up!

At last, here is a winner of Untimed by Andy Gavin...

Jovon T.

Congrats!

Happy Sunday, everyone!

  1. Sounds like a busy week for you - I can sympathise. I had to work yesterday and today as well in order to prepare for this coming week which is going to be manic! One reason the book I'm currently reading such mental popcorn - no thinking required! :-)

  4. OOh nice! Haven't heard of that one! Sometimes it can be very relieving not to add too much to the TBR pile! At least you got 1 book so it doesn't feel so upsetting! Hate when I can't showcase anything!

    Happy Reading!

  10. I've heard amazing things about Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood, I still haven't ventured away from Handmaid's Tale yet (of which I own a nasty cover of, need to get to the replacing).

  13. Mel, I actually adore reading books like that from time to time. Thy are very refreshing.

Mel@The DailyProphecy, O_O, Elizabeth Hunter is really good. Do check her out!

Dehlia, I just finished it, and it was delicious!

Jessica, how sad it is that I was very tempted to buy something so that my post wouldn't feel quite that empty... ;)

Carrie, it's definitely NOT. really good paranormal romance, you should check it out!

    Ula, it was fab!

    Leanna, LOL I will!

Christy, it's an amazing read. Really one of the modern classics. Worth reading and will have a huge impact on you.

Hannah, I'm thinking of getting Blind Assassin and The Year of The Flood. My beautiful library has them!

Bea, thinking of it still gives me chills.

Christina, 100% agree. Especially all women in Southern states. Considering the crazy lawmaking that's going on there right now, they should know where it can all lead to... *shudder*
