IMM #14 and survival of the fittest

I'll tell you why I haven't posted last night, peeps!
I went Christmas shopping.
Oh.My.God.
It's a bloody jungle out there, survival of the fittest.
I do most of my holiday shopping online, but some urgent stuff which I have to post to Russia on Monday couldn't be avoided. Three hours among the zombiefied, glassy-eyed crowds after a night shift and very little time sleeping wiped me out. I've slept through the rest of the day and just read with no desire whatsoever to browse the net.

So let me emphasise how I feel about online shopping.
I freaking love it!
How about you? How is your Christmas shopping going?

Here is what's in my mailbox this week...

Egalleys

The one on the right is Tooth and Nail by Jennifer Sanfrey.
These three were requested in preparation for January as a Netgalley Month. An interesting mix of angels and demons, Japanese mafia enforcers and fae boxers. We'll see.

My library at last had this little baby :)

Won

Thanks to Mel's Random Reviews, Susan Kaye Quinn and quite unexpectedly, to Berkley UK!

Bought

I've read The Black Hawk as soon as I bought it, and it's pure poetry. Frankly, any other HR author in comparison to Joanna is as bland as a bowl of dry cereal.

For review

Thanks to James and Elizabeth! Love all three covers, and bounty hunters and Celtic powers are hard to resist ;)

This is it. No freebies this week.
What is in your mailbox, me dears?

As usual, proceed to complimentary music and man candy.

My Chemical Romance is not only good on the eye, they actually did quite a good punk song :) I'm trying to persuade my hubby to watch the video, but as an old punk he is sceptical...
Happy Sunday!

  1. Uhm ... I thought you like zombies!?
    Hahahaaa!!!

But seriously, I know exactly what you mean. I'm an online shopper for almost anything except groceries. I might hit the Mall maybe twice a year and certainly NOT close to Christmas. I'm not that crazy. And, right now, I'm actually browsing for wrapping paper for my prezzies online too. Maybe I am crazy after all? Who in their right mind would buy wrapping paper online? Me, if I find a good deal, ha.

  2. I took a day off on Friday and went to Bluewater - a massive shopping centre outside of town and it was manic! Although the good news was that almost each shop had a sale on, but if I wasn't on a mission I don't think I would have had the patience for it! The trouble is I still haven't done all my shopping so I have to venture out again today...argh! :-)

  3. Urgh, Christmas Shopping! I did some of that this week too. Like you I tend to do most of it online, but there were some things I needed to go into town for and other gifts that I needed ideas for (didn't get anywhere with those). It was awful though. I traipsed round for hours and came back with hardly anything - plus it's so much more expensive at real shops!

You've got some great books this week. The Tooth and Nail cover is pulling me in!

  4. I don't blame you one bit! I used to like the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping but it got old pretty fast after a few body checks from fellow shoppers.

I love The Vincent Boys! Enjoy :)
