Angel Town by Lilith Saintcrow review

Angel Town by Lilith Saintcrow (Jill Kismet #6)

Egalley thanks to Hachette Book Group

Synopsis from Goodreads
Jill Kismet is back from the grave in this explosive conclusion to Lilith Saintcrow's urban fantasy series.
She wakes up in her own grave. She doesn't know who put her there, she doesn't know where she is, and she has no friends or family.

She only knows two things: She has a job to do: cleansing the night of evil. And she knows her name.

Jill Kismet.

I've always loved Lili's writing. It's very intense, furious and powerful. Angel Town  is no exception, although it's not my favorite book in the series.

There is not much I can say without giving away some spoilers. Jill's awakening in her own grave is pretty gruesome. She doesn't remember who she is, but manages to find a diner in the desert and then get a ride into town.

Her memory comes back in bits and pieces, but the world she left is not the world she came back to. The uneasy truce between supernaturals is broken, the war is raging on the streets of her city and she drops right in the middle of it.

Perry is abso-freaking-lutely amazing. This book is his showdown time. I have to give credit to Lili, she manages to make her villains repulsive and alluring at the same time. You know they are evil, but you have to fight your heart no to go them.

The action as always in Lilith's books is explosive. You don't have time to take a breath before getting thrown from one emergency into another. Sometimes it's so fast you can barely understand what just happened.

Yes, I'm sad to let Jill go, but this was the only logical ending, because at the rate she was self-destructing she wouldn't have been able to stay a Hunter and survive mentally and physically. So I am happy she finally got her happy ending. She certainly deserved it.

Farewell, Jill. We'll miss you.

In case of zombie apocalypse

Hey, guys! I feel like I should say this just in case :)
If you'd like to sponsor a fellow book addict who sometimes can't sleep at night worrying that she won't have enough books to read if internet goes down in the event of zombie apocalypse (I'm convinced it's one of the top five ways to go for human race) you can donate through Paypal to olivesandacorns at gmail dot com or buy a book through any of the links provided with my reviews which will send me a small percentage from the sale. All proceeds will go towards my enormous TBR. I will also shelter you on the remote farm in Portugal when zombie apocalypse starts provided you survive getting there. There will be books, yay?
Thank you! Love you all
